Fall High School Tournament Directory

7’s rugby is fast-paced and exciting for players and spectators. Players require above average speed and agility and strong ball-handling and decision-making skills.

7’s rugby at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where the Canadian Women’s team won the bronze medals, was watched by hundreds of millions of television viewers. It was ranked amongst the most popular sports.

Rugby Ontario and Rugby Canada are focused on developing 7’s players for all future international competitions including IRB 7’s tournaments for men and women, including junior age players.

Ontario HS 7’s is expanding every year.

Rugby Ontario recognizes the strength and understands the importance of HS rugby to the future of the sport. There are more high schools with rugby programs in Ontario than the rest of Canada combined, with more than 400 schools and about 25,000 players.

Schools are encouraged to organize regional fall 7’s tournaments and provide tournament information to be posted on this web site to assist schools searching for competition.

Rugby Ontario will also continue to provide technical support for HS rugby with certification courses for coaches and referees and by organizing coaching symposiums.

Rugby Canada scouts and Ontario Junior Blues coaches will use HS tournaments for player identification for provincial tryouts. Provincial teams are the player pathway to national teams.

Not listed below are the many tournaments organized for TSSAA schools because these are not open tournaments. Rugby Ontario recognizes the outstanding leadership of Toronto HS coaches in growing fall 7’s rugby into by far the strongest 7’s program in Ontario.
